Well I just finished rigging a Sump Pump that should suck the water out before it gets in my basement and I'll know soon enough if it will work because more rain is on the way tonight, WooHoo!!

On the plus side (besides having an indoor pool), I've heard of springs that have been dry for many years around here are now perking out water. Most of the natural springs in the forest are just beautifully scenic spots (the one under my basement is not very scenic) so I can't wait to get out and go hunt some down. I've hiked to several that were dry over the years so I'm really excited about this.

There are also a zillion small waterfalls (and some pretty tall ones) that only run when there's been a lot of rain. This weekend looks perfect for an overnighter and I should have the time to get out there if my basement stays dry. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" />

I'm not sure if I'll backpack or take my little SUV way out into the forest and go car camping and hike around from there but I am darn sure getting out there!

I wish you all could be here in the ozark mountain forests right now. It's just starting to bloom out and it's incredible right now with all the water running out of the rock seems and into the hollows. Wildflowers are everywhere and if I'm lucky I might even find some Morels to cook up. The next 2-4 weeks are prime time here. After that, the ticks, chiggers, snakes and hemp production specialists will have it all to themselves.
