Hijacking this thread, saw this on REI online, http://www.rei.com/product/767831 only at REI. My old First Need is over 20 years old and this new one would filter circles around it, filtering 1.89 liters a minute. Over on TT, they were discussing the new water filter from MSR and some didn't care for MSR stuff, felt it wasn't tested enough before going to market. Too bad this new First Need still weights a pound.
