This is a classic backpacking/camping meal. Everyone has their own variation of this dish, but here is my spin on this classic campfire concoction...


you will need:
Tin foil
meat (whatever you like, but preferably beef)
yukon gold potatos (red bliss will work too, just make sure they are small)
baby carrots
small coctail onions
and a hot campfire

slice potatos into halves. Cut celary into about 1 1/2 inch pieces. Cut the meat into approximately 2-3 inch long strips. Rip off a piece of tin foil approximately 12 in wide by 12 in long. Place meat, potatos, carrots, celary, onions, rosemary to taste, thyme to taste, lemongrass to taste, and salt and pepper to taste in the center of tin foil. Fold edges of tin foil to make a bowl shape with all ingredients in the middle. Add approximately 1/2 cup of water to ingredients. Crimp edges of bowl together to turn your bowl into a pouch. Place your pouch into the hot coals at the bottom of your campfire BEING EXTREMELY CAREFULL NOT TO BURN YOURSELF!!! Cook for approximately 20 min or until meat is cooked throughout and potatos are soft. Open pouch CAREFULLY so as not to get burned by the steam. Eat with a fork and enjoy!

This is a good dish for camping, esspecially on a cold night. It offers protien, fat, and carbohydrates to keep you going and since it's all self contained in tin foil, clean up is easy.
