Since no one else has responded, I'll put in my two cents worth. I've been to the Enchantments, and it's a beautiful area, definitely worthwhile if you can get a permit. You might consider the "Little Enchantments" also, which I don't believe requires one.

Some other nice places in the NW would be the Goat Rocks Wilderness and Glacier Peak Wilderness, both in WA.

In the northeast corner of Oregon, the Eagle Cap Wilderness is spectacular. I did this loop (sort of) with a friend some years ago: Up the (west)Lostine River to Minam Lake, then east over the ridge to Upper Lake and Mirror Lake. We camped the second night at Mirror Lake, then day hiked past Moccasin Lake and up to Glacier Lake the next day. The following day we climbed Eagle Cap (there's a trail to the top). We didn't go to Pocket Lake, but it looks like there's a trail from the end of Moccasin Lake, at least on the USGS Eagle Cap quad. I can't seem to find my Eagle Cap Wilderness map at the moment. We hiked out along the East Lostine river. Anyway, no shortage of alpine lakes and beautiful scenery. We got some snow at Glacier Lake (in August) so be prepared.
