Per Prof. Cliff Mass' latest blog, "atmospheric rivers" out of the subtropics are due to hit California (and, evidently, Oregon) for the next week. These used to be known as "pineapple express," although at present any pineapples are frozen solid here in Oregon.

Hopefully, there will be enough moisture to alleviate the drought a while? Maybe even green up the hills around the bay area? When I went down for New Year's, everything was not even brown, but gray, and very dusty!

My daughter's dog (20 month old Lab/Golden cross), who is has been staying with me since New Year's, is having a wonderful time in the snow! He may not be so happy tomorrow when the freezing rain hits. Unfortunately he goes back to my daughter the 15th. I'm going to miss him!
