Good point, DJ, I had a night in the Catskills where I kept a pile of sticks in front of the tent to throw at the invading hordes of porcupines. A friend had his boots eaten
by quill pigs, but we had duct tape. The remnants of the boots and a whole bunch of silvery grey made it back down the trail. I've had to repel marmots, chipmunks and raccoons at different times. I hang our packs, much like food bags ,when in known pesky critter turf. Our tents have always been tight for both of us and packs .
