GrumpyGord member Registered: 01/05/02 Posts: 945 Loc: Michigan	In addition to estimating distance and hours of daylight left I use it frequently to tell direction. Half way between the hour hand and 12:00 is south. In the areas I hike in it is frequently very overgrown and it is extremely easy to get headed in the wrong direction.
