Time to toss my list in. Some really good advice in this thread. I picked 4 days for a trip length as it takes that long to really find flaws in gear, and I can generally resupply every 4 days.

The pack is a design of mine comfortable up to 35 pounds. It makes use of other needed gear to make a waterproof bag, so it's just a couple straps and 8 inches of parachute cord. I've used a similar design on a 2 week unsupported trip and it works great, although it doesn't have all the fancy pockets.

I don't have a tarp tent picked out yet. Food is 1.5 lb a day minus breakfast on the first day and evening meals on the last day.

Oops, I made a spreadsheet error for those who might have seen this before. Now I'm down to 25.58 pounds, and I haven't even drilled holes in my toilet paper yet.
