I grew up in a more or less "one million pop. city".
Escaped every week end for long walks in the countryside, and holidays to the mountains, with family.
Desperately "hoped" for camping trips, but not until I was 14 or 15.
Discovered serious hiking at that age, and the costal scenery too. Killed the attraction for mountains, in consequence !
Then discovered serious travelling, and the added bonus of local hikes and "adventure".
Out of that, I remain fiercely an urban dweller!
