Funny you should say that about the dog to OregonMouse - her avartar his her constant hiking companion I know for a fact she likes the tarptents because she keeps the dog in one with her - in fact I bought a gently used Lunar Solo off of her (complete with dog hair) because it wasn't suitable for having a canine companion in while the tarptent worked better for that..
