Actually the relative lack of snow is because it is the front ranges - the easternmost part of the rockies. The bugs and everything else further west would havev been pretty nasty up high. Our snow is late this year and isothermic. Light till about 11 or a bit later. However I wouldn't know right now. I'm sitting in a pub at the north end of Killarney national park in Ireland after a fabulous day dayhiking and climbing up mount Torc ( with my non hiking wife no less. Her first mountain! ) the murphys is tasty . Pics when I get back to real net.
