how about chaffing - a common complaint of long distance hikers, and sweating between the legs while hiking in hot weather. I have worked as a brasero in the vineyards in Napa where we only wore loose cutoffs - unzipped, so the wind could blow through more easily. Climbing over rocks, a skirt would bind less. BUT I'll bet there are skirt wearers in this group who cold tell us a thing or two - come on Daisy or someone, help me out here.

Frankly I can also see where nude hiking or climbing might be best for certain weather conditions. A true purest has to climb nude to meet the rock on its own terms, but I preffer the addition of climbing shoes.
