Yes I also sweat a lot, and before I always felt wet when having a short stop or a larger break. Used to wear wool underclothes and hardshell jacket over that.

Now I have switced to this underwear http://www.brynje.no/public/index.php?cccpage=webshop_l1&set_language=en Really, it is a new world for me. On the short stops I do not feel cold as before, and when I stop for longer periods I put on a light down jacket after taking off the wet softshell. After ten minutes I'm dry as well as warm.

For outer jacket I now use softshell most of the time. Even in winter, in -10C and a fresh wind (10 - 15 mph) this was enough. If the wind gets stronger I use the hardshell jacket.

The Brynje is admittedly NOT cheap, but I like it so much that I use it daily. I have now 6 T-shirts, and they are just wonderful. When hiking I mostly use the model with long arms.
