Absolutely, please do. Like a few others, I normally carry 1 or more books with me depending on the length I will be out and how much time I think I will have to read. Normally, I just read during the early evening in camp and when it gets to dark to read by fire light I end up going to sleep.

Even the weight of the device and one set of extra batteries could end up weighing less than 1-2 paperback books.
