At long last, the season's first winter storm series is headed our way (maybe the southern Cascades, too?). Welcome news on a very subpar water year and especially needed considering the recent fire season.
Keep those fingers crossed and maybe stay off the mountain highways this weekend.

Actually getting the first snow of the winter here in Oregon just east of Portland (at 300 ft. elevation). It's not sticking, but the really good news is that the storm is headed towards you Californians!

It snowed in the Catalina foothills yesterday and probably Tucson too. Of course it didn’t stick down here but lots of white remaining on the close, right in our face peaks.

Any idea of the current snow depth in those mountains outside Tucson? I'll be soloing the Rincons in March and would love to see some running snow melt in the streams.

Don’t know snow depth up there but they got a good amount and the skiers are going strong in the nearby Catalinas. The road up was closed because of snow yesterday. But it has been warm the last couple days. We’ll see how much snow remains but a bit more might drop tonight. Anything is possible running up to March.
It's snowing here in West Virginia and appears to continue 'til Tuesday morning. Been pretty snowy here this winter. Not a lot of accumulation but snowing several days a week.
