Been in many wetter canyons, but not to this one with so much sand. What boot and sock combo works for keeping some of that water-borne sand out of your socks? Unless I buy something new, I expect to wear mid-high mesh boots that are only sized for regular socks. Years ago I had high top jungle boots (slightly oversized) and thin neoprene socks and that worked well for less sandy conditions. I like the warmth of neoprene if I can find socks that are thin enough. Are there newer sock fabrics that will still tolerate the abrasion of the sand inside of the boots?

The Grand Canyon Trust in Flagstaff, Az is running three, five day trips through the Paria in October for cutting out the invasive Tamarisk and Russian olive trees.

Thank you for your suggestions,
