She was addressing the Commission on the status of Women. She's advocacy director for Planned Parenthood International, so most of what she said referred to the Beijing protocols of fifteen years ago. She pointed out that everyone had endorsed them, and yet in many places they had not been implemented.
(basically, all this talk is wonderful, but how about actually doing what we said we were going to do!)

I'm proud of your daughter too!
No small task she took on there, and her speech was very well crafted.
She's fighting a tough battle. It's tougher now than it was 40 years ago, which is just stunning, and sad. But it's really encouraging to see her at the U.N. no less, fighting. Honestly, it makes me proud of her too.
