Hey everybody! It's long-lost tarbubble. I've been gone a while, maybe y'all don't even remember me.

I have exactly one week this summer when I can do a backpacking trip. I can leave Saturday August 15th but need to be back home in SoCal by Friday August 21st.

Got a trip going with an open spot on your permit? Or, got that week open and want to make some plans? I'm thinking Sierras (only place tolerable in August), around 12 miles a day, preferably east side but I'm open. Anybody game?

Not exactly what you're looking for but my buddy just backed out of a permit from 8/16 to 8/30. It's basically the JMT N-S from Happy Isles but with a variation. I'm meeting two or three other friends in Tuolumne Meadows on the 18th and we'll proceed south together on the JMT at a rate of about 10 miles/day. They will bail at Red's Meadow and I'll continue south to Whitney portal. You could bail at any point. YARTS provides excellent transportation in the Yosemite area.

That may be exactly what I'm looking for. I'm out of shape, so 10 mpd sounds fine, and I just can't hack solo for very long. Thanks, just thanks. I'll IM you.
