I am thinking of ordering a hammock from an outfit called greatoutdoor sports.com. has anyone had any dealings with them? I did a search but didnt find anything on them. I just dont want to get ripped off.

I have never heard of them but that doesn't mean anything. Which hammock are you wanting to buy?

Its the Hennesy Expedition Asym. This place has it on sale for $114 dollars. I will definatly pay that if its a legit place. I sent them an email a few minutes ago, just waiting to hear back from them.

While it's not altogether reliable, google shopping has star ratings on various venders as well as giving the prices.

Type in a google search for your hammock and then click on "shopping" in the left hand column.

my German is not that good, but that website looks like community website and not a store front. Can you provide a link to the hammock?

If it is coming from Germany, you are probably getting a deal based on a shift in exchange rates. That means it could very well be a legitimate store. I have purchased from sketchy websites in the past. As long as purchase with a credit card, verify every part of your purchase, are ok with waiting a long time and maybe never getting the final product, and are not expecting high customer service, then you will be fine.

Here is another website I found with the hammock for $104.... They definitely look a bit shady to me: http://www.firstchoicefurnishings.com/hennessy-hammock-hennesy-expedition-asymmetrical-hammock/

Thanks for easing the worries BZH...This place is out of Arkansas. I talked to them via E-mail. I went and ordered it. It really looks like a legit site. I will let yall know in a few days how it all went.

That makes sense... I see a lot less German now!

I agree they look pretty legit. A google search pops up their storefront first. That's a good sign. It looks like a small existing shop that has put up an online storefront.

Great Escapes Outdoor Sports is a legit place. they sent me an e-mail to track the package as it was on its way and it arrived Saturday. I picked it up at the p.o. taday and it was just as they promised. I am really pleased because stuff does not always go my way.
Really cool hammock, if I can hang it, get comfortable , and not have it fall to the ground with me in it, I consider it a success. Its got the directions printed right there on the bag that its stored in. I am pretty stoked about the whole deal right now. grin

Well now that you have bought a hammock you should come and check out the dark side on the HF because you just opened up a whole nother' can of worms smile Be sure to check out "Shugs hammock haning how-to video series" before you get too deep into the elevated world.

Enjoy your hanging out, and congrates on elevating your perspective, and welcome.
