What can I say? I see I am not the only one to check the NPS Morning Report. There are often stories like this posted there.

It seems very likely that this ranger and many others will get a long weekend due to the impending government shutdown. Rangers with law enforcement commissions will mostly remain on duty to prevent resource damage, everyone else will get unpaid time off.
