I tend to agree with Johndavid. I took an old down bag apart and made a quilt using the recovered down. It works wonderfully. It actually gets more use than any other bag I have. I have also noted that the 600 fill seems tougher. If you are a bag washer (sleeping bag) then that might play into the durability issue. I hope my Alpinlite last a really long time, but when my Alpinlite fabric wears out I plan to make a really nice quilt with the down and keep on using it.
