Shortwave radio...sometimes. VHF/UHF radio, always.
1/2 pint of favorite bourbon or scotch.
Huge astronomical binoculars....IF the skies are clear and I'm not hiking far.
Harmonica, or tin whistle.
Kite of some kind.
