I am trying with my kids. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> I am somewhat confident that it will work with my boys, but not so sure with the girls. We will see. I am sure that those here who have hiked with their kids a lot and then the kids decided they didn't like it, can educate me on this one. The benefits I see are that all equipment used is decided (and financed) by me. The rules are set by me. And, they don't work, so their schedule is similar to mine.
