For once I have to agree with you. The lack of valid standards for comparison combined with the desire for lighter gear leaves a void. But this is the topic of my post, which if you read between the lines is this "HAS THE DESIRE FOR LIGHTER AND LIGHTER PRODUCTS WITHOUT SOLID BASIS OF COMPARISON DRIVEN THE MARKET TO PRODUCE INFERIOR PRODUCTS?" or if the term inferior is unacceptable, then "products which have been designed with more consideration of weight based marketing than function?"
