Actually it's kind of nice if you affix the light to the rear of a bike helmet. I've used my petzl as a rear facing flasher. the flasher gets the attention of the big metal gas eaters better than a solid light, at least I've found..

(Yes, i cycle with a forward and rearward facing light on my helmet.)
