I used a cheap Wallyworld tent for two seasons of backpacking, plus several years of car camping. The only time I had any leaks in it was the last season when I got hit by a 4 hour thunderstorm at Rae Lakes. It leaked around the bottom where the floor connects with the wall. It was not a bad leak but it did require regular mopping to keep things dry. I replaced it two years ago with a Contrail for weight and space saving, but I will be taking it out this weekend as my wife will be going with me (her first time). Test it for water proofness, then go and enjoy!
