I bought a folding titanium spork when all Ti-wear was on sale for $5.00 http://www.backpackinglight.com/cgi-bin/backpackinglight/bpl_titanium_folding_spork_sul.html

This appears similar to the Brunton folding TI spork.

I’ve used it on a couple of trips. I haven’t used sporks before. I have used the ‘Light My Fire Spork’ a lot (though not really a spork) ($2.50 at Walmart). Yeah, I’ve heard that sporks aren’t as good as spoons or forks, but this shape sure changes that philosophy.

I have found the TI folding spork easier to use:
1. Fits easily in my 4.2oz Titan Kettle
2. folds down small
3. light weight (<0.6oz)
4. I thought it would be hard to eat with but it was easier. I’ve used it w/ good success on:
a) grits
b) ramen noodles
c) Vienna sausage
d) scrambled eggs
e) bacon strips
f) stirring the hot chocolate
5. Good length for reaching in 1 pt Ziploc bags. I had troubles with the LMF Spork since I could only hold it half way since both ends were grimy/dirty (when I eat ).
6. The Ti spork is Tough. I have broken a LMF fork tong before.

Anyway, it’s another fun piece for gearheads to use out on the trails
Anyone else try it?
