Has anyone tried or heard anything about the down sold by Wildernesslogics.com? Their prices are pretty good: 850+ goose down $134.95/lb or a blend of 850 goose and 800 duck $79.95/lb. A bit more by the ounce.

How is the down packaged when you get it? I sewed two sleeping bags using the old Frostline kits. They packaged the down in pre-measured tubes, one for each baffle. You would basically put the tube in the baffle, and then turn it inside out, pushing out the down. Even with the tubes there were plenty of feathers flying!
I would think that if they simply sent a big bag of down, handling it would be a nightmare.
I have thought of misting the down with water spray to make it more manageable, but never tried it.
They have it either packaged by the ounce (a bit more expensive) or by the pound. I'm not sure how it's packaged if you get more than a pound.
I made a down bag some years ago, and found a way to handle it that worked fairly well. I got a large cardboard box and taped plastic over the top with just enough gap to put my hands through and be able to see what I was doing. I put the down in the box, and bagged it in small plastic bags within the box. By working slowly, I was able to minimize the mess.
I made one of those Frostline kits, too, a down jacket. I wish they were still around.
