I have a 10+ year old Hillary tent and on a recent trip incurred some damage to a tent pole. One of the pole sections basically frayed and splintered creating a significant week spot. I was able to manage through the rest of the trip but I need to replace that pole (dont want to replace the entire tent as this is the only damaged part).
My question is related to the information I will need to find the proper replacement. I do not have the "model" information, just the make. Can I get away with just measuring that pole and finding a replacement at the same length?
I am frequently guilty of overthinking the simple things, so if that's the case again, apologies!

I know Easton is very popular for replacement poles, and they have nice aluminum ones that are reasonably priced. I think there's a couple different places to buy them too. Google around, I'm sure you'll find other manufacturers as well. If you're only going to replace one pole, I'm not sure about mixing unlike poles; maybe someone else can chime in on that? But, yes, you absolutely can measure the pole and replace it with a custom as long as there's no weird fittings that can't be replaced. Read through the information on Quest Outfitters tent poles page.

It was pretty seamless. I just measured the length and diameter of the existing poles. If you call them up, they are pretty good about matching your needs.
