My sons team won their championship game just now to a team who beat them badly earlier in the year! I can't help but be proud of the boys!

They also got best sportsmanship award. They worked very hard as a team and everyone played a role. As you can tell I'm beaming right now.

Yea the high school has to travel all over for games, Tulare, Gorman, Trona, Ridgecrest. This was/is ayso so it's all local kids on 5 teams that play each other at the Bishop park.

Traditionally pride is one of the seven deadly sins, but if I recall correctly, pride in your son is never counted against you. I'm particularly impressed with the sportsmanship award.

I am proud of the team, my son, and especially the coach, but I did nothing but attend so I can take no credit. The team worked very well together, no one kid dominated. Just a all around good group of kids.

Congratulations!

Great photo of the kids. They look like a very happy bunch.

That's a great way to win too. I mean, whupping up on the team that whupped you earlier in the season? That's just sweet! cool

Hey, I love sports and competition. Bragging rights are fun. So is losing if you do it right. I was born in Cubs baseball land, they know how to have fun losing there.

It's fun watching kids learn to work together as a team. My wife and I drove a zillion miles bringing our kids to practice and going to games. Sometimes it was a squeeze getting things done, but we always had fun at those games. And we got to know so many kids and their parents. The kids are all grown up now, we're still friends with all of them.

All of those kids will share that bond forever. Most of them will probably be friends forever too. That's pretty good stuff.
