No, not yet another "Red Dawn" remake, but actual furry wolverines are reestablishing themselves in the Washington Cascades.
California may have our one visiting wolverine and our one visiting wolf, but it looks like Washington gets to have much more fun. Wolverines return to Washington
Seeing one in the wild would be a lifetime event for we westerners, but we can still hope.

I'd love to see one, but I'd be careful not to anger one. Apparently, wolverines are heavily into revenge and if you bug them enough they'll turn and come after you... for miles!

Cool! And I'm with aimless on this one; not an animal you would want to anger and from all accounts, the most bad-assed mammal on the planet. In the book, The Wolverine Way by Douglas Chadwick, stories are told of radio collared M-3 crossing over the highest peaks of Glacier NP in mid winter; not just over the ridge, but to the peak of Mt. Cleveland (I suppose just because its there?). The critters are built for the ice ages taking on cliffs, icefalls, and summits as well as the nastiest winter weather 24/7 while roaming vast expanses of territory and facing down grizzlies. Simply amazing animals. My partner and I got to see one in the 80's for about 3 or 4 seconds on the flanks of Madison Valley, MT. It was gone fast, but nothing else we have North America moves and looks like that.
I had a friend a couple hundred feet away from me see one. So close, but not quite. It's nice to know they're doing well though, I'd love to see one, one day.
