Looking for good places to camp out in the White Mountains in between day hikes. Will be alone so I will have my car with me to get from place to place. Any recommendations on where or where not to set up a camp would be appreciated. working on the 48 so basically anyplace in the WMNF would be useful.

Please specify which "Whites" you are talking about. Am I to assume that "working on the 48" mean you are climbing the highest peaks in the 48 states?

Just as there are probably a thousand Lost Lakes, and a thousand Elk Creeks, there are probably a half dozen ranges of White Mountains in the USA (and more than a dozen of Blue Mountains). grin

From the reference to WMNF, I presume Mudflap is talking about the White Mountains National Forest in New Hampshire, general info about which may be accessed thru this link:

Sorry peeps, I forget that everyone is from a totally different area than me. Yes I am reffering to the white mountains in New Hampshire. And, I'm working on the 48 4000 footers there.
