Arizona Closes Most State Parks

Wow, that really sucks.

A number of other states are threatening this--California, of course, as well as Washington. For some reason, Oregon hasn't threatened this lately.

They are trying to save money. But I believe this is the exact wrong time to close them. The amount of people camping was up last year and this year because of the economy, camping will be even more popular. State parks because of their affordability could be on the receiving end of this boon but our short-sighted and yes I'll say it STUPID politicians we will be missing out on this. Of course this will help me since I own a campground in Northern AZ.

Please be aware that this Tango is not the same person as Tango61 that has been a member here since December 2005.

I'm VERY tempted! It's been raining so much here that ground has been saturated for weeks. You walk on it and it squishes.

We had sunshine from Friday 5pm through Sunday around 4pm.
First time in weeks. Fortunately, we were camping!

Now back to miserable yuk weather.

I don't know how folks around Seattle take it. It would drive me nuts. I have to have sunshine or get REALLY grumpy (at least that's what my wife says).

Take a nice (short) hike for me Pika and soak up the sunshine!

Well, I will use the cliche: "it's a tough job but somebody has to do it". I'll try to get out tomorrow. I'll do it in your honor. grin

Please do not insult stupid people by saying stupid and politicians in the same sentence.

BobC,
I don't believe it was Pika that said "STUPID politician".

I believe it was the other Tango.

Were suffering from a lack of sun here too, and everyone is getting stir crazy.

Our ground is either frozen hard or squishy like yours. Right now we still have some snow on the ground and a "mostly crappy" weather forecast.

Uhg..
