I was online looking at gear on www.backcountry.com last night. I was looking for the new Granite Gear Blaze AC 60. I saw a reveiw on this pack in April Backpacker and was curious. I hit the chat button and asked if it was available yet and also return policy if I tried it out and didnt like the fit etc. The pack was not yet available . However, the rep told me it doesnt matter if it is next week or 30 years from now! He said 100 percent warrenty and satisfaction gaurantee for life! Cabelas, does this as well. I know where I will bye my next pack or sleeping bag from now! I thought there might be interest in this as I have often read to use a new pack etc. while you can still return it! Aparently, not a issue from Backcountry!

I returned two sets of winter boots to them a year ago, a glitch on their end regarding the second pair, they sent me return labels for both. I had given them my credit card info over the phone as there was some missed/delayed communication on their end. Sometime about then also, I had my credit card info used, had to file a claim and fax a police report to the credit card company. I caught if after one completed transaction and another pending one. I had been shopping online for boots, cancelled one order when I found some cheaper from another source. Reminds me, I need to contact Sierra Designs to see if I can get a old fly for my Halfmoon, the seam sealer is coming up on my last one.

REI has the same policy. You can return ANYTHING you bought at their store (any REI) or on their site. Even if it's broken, heavily worn, no tags, etc. My bf had to return his boots bc after being broken in, he realized he needed a larger size. They took them back no problem, gave him a full refund. I've had to return things because of sizing, and they accepted them even without tags (again, with a full refund). All things that are returned are then put up for sale to the public at their "garage sales" with a tag on it that says why it was returned and all.
