ive been using the backcountry forums to come up with a backpack camping game plan, but most of the camping i currently do is in the back of my truck. i was curious if anyone here could recommend a good forum in which i might field some non-ultralight questions.

Thanks!

I bet a whole lot of our members car camp some of the time, if only at trailheads that are far from home. This off-topic forum seems like as good a place as any to float a few questions and see what kind of answers we can scare up for you. Car camping seems at least as interesting as jawing about politics, and a lot less likely to set off a brawl. grin

Also more fun!

I use my backpacking gear for car-camping, except that I take a larger tent.

I car camp quite a bit, a guy I work with has 80 ac that I have my own tent area, I love it, but instead of a pack full of crap I have a truck full of crap.

The best thing I ever purchased for car camping is my Kodiak canvas tent, 10'x10' and 6'8" head height, pure luxury.

The only thing that I take in my car that I don't take in my pack is a large, heavy, comfortable, CHAIR!
