Hi All,
Been awhile since I posted much but need some help. It is time to replace my Dunham's that I had since 2006. Finally wore through them on the tread and the heal area right down to the last. I absolutely need a solid outer edge sole due to breaking the right ankle and lower leg and now have a strong supinating gate. I have a pair of Solomon XPro's that I tried for backpacking and hiking but very quickly wore down the outer edge of the sole and ended up with the Dunhams. Dunham was bought by New Balance and with the depression hitting closed the boot section down.

Does anyone have a favorite strong, solid sole boot that they like that they consider a light weight boot? I have looked through the different manufacturers sites reading up on all their marketing literature about how this or that boot is the best thing since sliced bread and .... You get the idea. Now, does anyone have an opinion or a suggestion?

By the way the Soloman's are the water shoes now.
Thanks

You can still get Dunham boots on Amazon.

There might be something Danner makes that you like.

I posted a review of my favorite Merrell boots a while ago. Put over 2000 mi. On 'em. Unfortunately you can't get that style any more cry..but I ran into one of their reps in the backcountry a couple weeks back and he told me they are close to releasing a new version of that boot. Hopefully in the next few months.

I checked into resoling my Dunhams but they are a glued on sole and the interior would have to be rebuilt. The boots r gone now and it's time for new ones. So many places are not stocking boots now that it is fall/winter on the inventory schedule.
