I don't believe I've ever read direction to stow this kind of filter wet. I think the reality is they're impossible to completely dry--I've left mine in a sunny window for weeks and am still able to shake out drops. IIUC best practice it to backflush with a mild bleach solution, dry as thoroughly as possible then stow.

My added step is backflush at the beginning of the next season. (I've inadvertently toted a clogged "clean" filter at the beginning of the season before.) So far, so good.
