I went for my first backpacking trip near there in 1973 where "Pecks Cabin" was located (on Pecks Creek). An old friend used to own the only private property there is up there and he and his friends built a "lean two" with an enclosed bathroom that had a flushing toilet and hot and cold running water!

I looked at some "Google" satellite photos earlier this year and it looks like the lean-two is gone and a pretty big house is there now, which is kind of sad.

The friend told me that there are petroglyphs carved into some rocks along Peck's Creek downstream from the cabin but I never did get a chance to see them. Beautiful area.
