Here in Central Oregon we've had a beautiful Christmas with all the trees heavily iced in snow and around ten inches on the ground. I put on a pair of Karhu Raineer metal edged back country skis that I got for $5 at a garage sale with nice NNNBC bindings to match my old boots. They handled very well skiing in tire tracks. One of my homeless buddies called me asked me to take him skiing. I told him he'd have to be able to say he had skied around his tent without breaking a leg first. I went out there and drove through ten inches of snow in my 4runner with siped Yokaha off-road tires. It was fun - I was never in compound low and I drove for over a mile through virgin snow. It was as much fun as getting out and putting on the skiis and skiing in my tire tracks with my friends. grin the snow conditions were wonderful and the antique skis climbed perfectly. grin
