Healthy: Replace half or all the selfrising white flour with any other flour. If no selfrising flour is used, then add 1 tsp baking powder per cup of any flour to make it rise. Try different flours if you are a bread freak. I like Red Mill Oat bran cereal (which is really just a flour and found in all supermarkets western US).

On the trail artificial sweetner packets instead of sugar to keep Yogi and the ants away.
