So I want to insert an photo to this site and I click on the "enter an image" icon. It says "floating or non floating....etc. Then it asks for a http://
I have no idea what that means. How would I insert a photo?

AFAIK, with the exception of one (or two, don't know) forums, you have to have your photos hosted on another site that allows linking, and then you link to that photo in your post here. That's what asking for http:// is, it's asking for the web URL (which starts with http:// or https://).

That's why I can't post photos any more. I still have an account on flickr but it has been inactive for years and i can no longer access it. (Of course flickr has been bought out.) And all the other third party sites I've checked require payment.

Let me try and see what happens. A pretty bird (king bird I think, they never tell me).

This image is hosted on Flickr and I inserted an address for it non-floating. I think the float prompt is from html where you can code to flow text around graphic elements in various ways, if so a little complicated for forum use. e.g., float right to have it appear on the right side of the frame.

OM - There are quite a few free image hosting sites. Just Google "free image hosting." I've only used Photobucket, but it's kind of clumsy.

I don't know. You might ask in the "help" section of the forum.
