Kirk and I have been making cooking videos for the past 2 months or so

The badly produced ones (ie...me filming them on my digital camera) are on our Freezerbagcooking channel:
http://www.youtube.com/user/Freezerbagcooking

The better videos that involve actual pots and pans are up on Trail Cooking. These ones my husband shoots:
http://www.youtube.com/user/trailcooking

Anyhoo, we have been having fun!

Sarah, superb job on the trail cooking videos. Although you make it look 'easy', I'm sure producing a video is much harder than I know. I really appreciated the attention to small backpacking details like putting your leftover salmon packet in an Ursack. The Salmon Alfredo recipe looks mouthwatering! Carol

...and thank goodness she isn't. Instead she is a valued member of our community here, and a has increased many people's awareness that good food can indeed be had without adding significant weight to one's pack. There's a difference between theatrics and genuinely helping people.

I was persuaded by the husband to let him have more toys a couple weeks ago and one thing we have now is a pro HD camera. He seems to love it and my back is happy as it weighs only 5 lbs (gack). We shot 3 trail cooking episodes this past week while out hiking. The first one is up tonight, with an episode coming every week after this for the next month or so.

We are using Blip.TV ( http://trails.blip.tv ) to host our films now as well - they allow one to show it wide screen and it isn't as compressed. The full screen option is worth using to view.

Trail Cooking Episode #4:

The recipe:

Swiss Broccoli Mac & Cheese

In a sandwich bag put:
3 Tbsp flour
1/2 cup powdered dry milk
2 tsp mustard powder
1 Tbsp dried parsley
1 tsp granulated garlic
1/4 tsp black pepper

In a second sandwich bag put:
8 oz uncooked small shell pasta
1/3 cup diced dried broccoli

Also take:
5 oz Swiss cheese

Cut the cheese into very small chunks. Bring 3 1/2 cups water to boil. Add pasta and broccoli pieces. Return to a boil. Lower the stove's heat and boil gently with the lid on until the pasta is done according the pasta package, stirring occasionally. Do not drain. Stir in the dry ingredients, then most of the cheese (reserve a bit for topping). Turn off heat and stir until the cheese melts. Serve in the bowls and top with the reserved cheese.

Serves two.

okay - I'm going to poke some fun at the freezer bag lady... did anyone else notice that she has to clean a pot? lol sarbar you are crossing to the dark side (even if it is a fancy schmancy nonstick variety)... anyway I am only teasing you about the pot - the mac and cheese looks good and cheesy - hearty for the trail

Isn't the title of the video called Trail Cooking and not Freezerbag cooking?

Her other website is Trailcooking.com which explains the difference. Just an excuse to use those fancy schmancy no-stick pots if ya ask me!

Ah, I see... I still think she's come to the dark side to play with teflon though...

that said, it's nice to see the crossover, as it adds more variety

Yep

.....would I cook this way without Teflon or hard anodized aluminum? Heck-o-ll-a no. A couple paper towels and the cleanup is mostly done - then a quick rinse. I still believe in avoiding doing dishes if I can

The next one in the series is FBC style, it was shot up at Mt. Baker/Shuksan I am figuring it will come out early next week.
