Hi,
I have a 600 fill down bag (REI Mojave +10) that we got for only $117 during their Fall sale. I want to take it camping next weekend to test the temp rating, but I noticed that when I climb into it in the living room, it always loses a little bit of down and feathers. Not a lot but just little bits clinging to my clothing when I get out of it. Should I be really concerned about this? It's really soft and comfortable and the loft measures 5" and higher depending on where I measure. I've read reviews about down bags where people mention that they all lose a few feathers. Is this true or does it just happen with inexpensive bags like this? I'm just trying to decide if I should send it back and save up for a better one. Thanks for your advice. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

A little down loss is normal. If they're poking through you can pinch/pull from the oppsite side to slow the loss. 5" loft is about 25dF.
