1 cup flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 1/2 teaspoon salt
4 tablespoons Nestle powdered milk
1 egg
1 cup water

mix all the dry stuff together and store in a ziploc bag. When you want to use it, mix in egg and add the 1 cup of water and stir well until blended and mostly smooth. Cook in a pan until browned. Makes 2 hearty servings of great flapjacks!

Cheap

I really like the "Kodiak Cakes" pancake mix. It already contains eggs and milk, so you need add only water. And I far prefer whole-grain foods. Adding fresh wild huckleberries makes them a dish fit for a king! However, lately I've pretty well given up anything but Freezer Bag "Cooking" on the trail--I hate washing dishes! Unless the grandkids are along, I stick with cold cereal (meusli or granola) and dried fruit for breakfast.

Oregon Mouse...Just a FYI.... The Glad company says that it is not safe to cook in "any" of their bags as they were not designed to be cooked in....I had seen this issue come up on several occasions and contacted them about the subject. They said they absolutely did not make a bag that was safe to cook in....Hope This Helps...Happy Trekking...sabre11004

sabre, I think Sarbar is going to have to disagree with you on your post She's the freezer bag cooking guru around these parts, and I have'nt noticed anything abnormal about her posts since she began 'cooking in freezer bags'
