Hi, just wondering if you guys know of any daypacks (used for dayhikes and around town, 25 liter-ish) which are minimal and light, and are the cord-cinch top-flap style, but have a zipper that opens the main compartment.
I saw one today at LL Bean that I really liked: Flowfold Center Zip Pack.

However, the thing didn't have a sternum strap or a waist strap, which I like to have.
Any suggestions are appreciated!

That's a neat looking pack. I don't think I've seen one with both a zipper and a flap before but that one made it look nice.

As for the sternum strap, those are readily available as an accessory and can be added. The waist strap might be a bit more of a challenge to add unless you don't mind sewing it (or having it sewn) onto your new pack.

I don't usually find a waist strap is needed for day hikes but if you do, then you might want to keep searching. I've been hiking for a while and I still haven't found the perfect pack. There are always compromises to make and what suits me today might not tomorrow.
