Now you, too, can make technology work for you - you can now use your smart phone or tablet to save the excruciating effort of, you know, bending your elbow and touching your forehead to change the beam on your headlamp.

Assuming you can get a signal, I suppose?

Reminds me of the "gear discussion" in Bill Bryson's "A Walk in the Woods." Someone was showing off their pack with a plastic window in one of the compartments so they can see the contents. "You can't open a zipper and look?" grin

I keep seeing ads for flashlights that will "start a fire" and while that's impressive to watch that's not a feature I want or need in a flashlight.
