"The Tokyo Electric Power Corp. says Unit 1 at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant did, in fact, meltdown during the 2011 accident." ( source )

“No. 2 & 3 are also scheduled for imaging, and it is widely suspected they also suffered complete meltdown.” ( source )

Hard to believe that happened 4 years ago and they still have even figured out how to stop the radioactive water from spilling into the ocean, much less clean up the mess.

crazy

When nuclear plants meltdown the mess goes so far beyond the normal industrial mess that it makes strip mining look almost benign. Japan will be living with that radiation for a very, very long time.

They just found out it actually "Melted Down". They think the fuel rods are in a containment chamber below the reactor, but they don't know.

It's what you don't know that always bites you in the butt the hardest.

Again.

Wonder if they'd sign a petition to revoke Einstein's Nobel Prize?

I suspect he'd gladly give it back.
