What shall we do with an empty bear can?
What shall we do with an empty bear can?
What shall we do with an empty bear can?
Early in the morning.

Gas canister and fishing tackle
Gas canister and fishing tackle
Gas canister and fishing tackle
Early in the morning.

Oh Lord and how she rattles
Oh Lord and how she rattles
Oh Lord and how she rattles
Early in the morning.

Stuff the space with dirty laundry
Stuff the space with dirty laundry
Stuff the space with dirty laundry
Early in the morning.

Hey Ho and up she rises
Hey Ho and up she rises
Hey Ho and up she rises
Early in the morning.

She: "Are you putting your dirty clothes into the bear can? Thatís gross!"

Me: "But the gas canister I am carrying--the one I took from your pack--is rattling, and this way itís quiet"

She; "Itís still gross!"

Me: "Iíll wash the bear canister when we get home"

You do use a scent proof sack for food in bear can, right? So the food won't actually touch the cannister!

And congrats on 35 years! Our 18th wedding anniversary is this month smile

Uh....

No, we don't. But we're not in Alaska. We've seen two bears in the backcountry in the last seven years and 800 miles. And they both ran away when they saw us.

Hmm... My wife has made similar comments. You know, our wives may be onto something because bears do the same when they smell, er, uh, I mean, see me too. laugh

Counting, like weighing your pack, is just a way to quantify pain. smile

Just kidding - Karol and I are at 43, as of today, and still going strong.

I'm thinking this kinda rules out bathing certain body parts in it.

Cheers,

If I have an empty can, or near empty, I fill it up. Keeps my pack clean, and leaves me more room. Congrats on a long and happy relationship.
