Today was just one of those mornings. The wind was whipping the fog up and over the crest of this mountain ridge. I took a picture but it's still hard to see. Even coastal chaparral can be nice to hike through.



The manzanita and ceonothus are in bloom, but the local penstemon population looks pretty bleak . Hope they come back. Here is a shot from last year.





Least there are still chocolate lilies around.

It's such a dry winter, it's going to be a tough one for the wildflowers.

These are two different plants, with the larger one being over 4 foot tall (last year). Definitely this plant is one of my local favorites.

Ah yes, lovely. Still in the teens and 20's at home. Some snow a week ago, so not much to shovel Friday when I got home for the week. I got an invite to do the Lost Coast northern section mid April, not sure what I'll do.
