Remember, these are wild animals, not the domestic variety, and that Olympic National Park is not Disneyland.
Apparently, when male goats battle for domination, they attempt to gore each other, and deaths among goats are not uncommon from this practice. It doesn't take long to bleed out from a puncture of a femoral atery.
There are more injuries and fatalities due to deer than to bears in the US. (Deer aren't goats, but both are herbivores not predators - sort of blows ones expectations out of the water).
Yosemite, the park with the worst habituated bear problems anywhere, has had a single animal related fatality. It was due to a deer.
